Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said,

طَلَبُ الْعِلْمِ فَرِيضَةٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ

“Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.”
